His Word is a Lamp: 2 Thessalonians

Hey NewLife Family, 
We had quite a journey through 2 Thessalonians on Sunday! The Apostle Paul packed a lot of meaning into a short letter.

Here are a some highlights:

• Jesus’ return will take place after certain key events (2 Thess. 2:1-9). His return won’t happen until the rebellion has occurred and the Antichrist is revealed. We had a great conversation around this topic together on Sunday. There is too much to write about here, but like Paul told the Thessalonians, we have NOT missed His return. 
• Don’t let anyone deceive or upset our Christian faith (2 Thess. 2:2-3). There are folks out in the world who have the goal of undermining our Christian faith. Let us hold on tightly to Christ and not be swayed by them. 
• Prayer has a key role in preparing us for the return of Jesus. Paul prays four times in three chapters for the Thessalonian believers. We would do well to learn from his prayers for them and weave them into our prayer life. You can find them in: 2 Thess. 1:11-2, 2:16, 3:5 and 3:16.
• God is faithful and will guard us from the evil one: 2 Thess. 3:3. Our Father will establish and strengthen us to stand strong in the face of spiritual battle and suffering.
