His Word is a Lamp: Luke

The Gospel according to Luke is filled with amazing teachings of Jesus– parables and interactions that caused others to question their own beliefs and laws. Jesus did this on purpose, because the religious leaders of the day were getting it wrong and teaching the people that which was wrong.

God has given us a wonderful manual, the Bible, and an role model to follow, Jesus. Just like working on Legos to make something based on the instructions given, sometimes we mess up. We add pieces (beliefs) that are not supposed to be there – or we take out pieces that were intended to be a part of the set.

NewLife – we need to examine ourselves, not looking at the world for a good comparison – but looking straight to the life of Christ as our plumb line.

In order for our lives to look like Christ’s we must choose what He chose. 

1. Value people – see them in all circumstances
2. Be bold in speaking truth
3. Lean on God, our Father, in our day-to-day lives

So let us examine our lives – challenge ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ, to live a life that honors God, brings light to dark places, and is contagious of love.
