Living Life in the Spirit

Hello Friends,
On Sunday, we talked about being filled with the Holy Spirit. I had made slides but I felt like they were hard to see, so I am including what was on the slides for NewLife News this week because living in the Spirit is indispensable in our journey with Jesus. 
How to be filled with the Holy Spirit

• Surrender your life to Jesus: 1st as Savior, but also Lord, Luke 9:24
• Recognize and admit your need, John 15:4-5
• Ask the Father to fill you with the Holy Spirit, Luke 11:13
• Keep in step with Him, Gal. 5:25

Ways we block that filling

• Sin/disobey
• Grieve, Eph. 4:30
• Quench, 1 Thess. 5:19
• Harden our Hearts, Heb. 4:7
• Refuse to submit to Him, Phil. 2:4-5

Proof/Evidence that we’re living life in the Spirit

•  Bearing Fruit of the Spirit, Gal. 5:22-23
•  Bearing fruit in keeping with repentance, Matt. 3:8-10      
•  Being led by the Spirit of God, Rom. 8:15-17
• The Spirit testifies to our spirit that we’re children of God, Rom. 8:16

Daily Living Application
This why we pick up our cross daily, Luke 9:23: it’s a daily decision to follow Him and to ask for the Holy Spirit to fill us.
