Managing God's Resources

We are called to be managers of what God has given us. There is a lot of depth to that concept. On Sunday, Chris preached about our finances: how we should think vertically, earn honestly, and give generously. I told Chris I don't remember hearing many sermons about earning money in a godly way. Many sermons (some of them good, some highly guilt-ridden) have been preached on giving generously. However, it is important to remember God honors those who honor Him. This is not just in how we give, but also in how we earn and manage.

God requires us to be the example that reflects God's light. We should reflect Him in how we treat others, how we manage our homes, how we work, how we spend our resources and how we earn money.

When we reflect Christ in all areas of life, we help others see Him too. That’s why we need to ensure our own actions don't get in the way of the Gospel. Let us be challenged to lay every decision and resource at the foot of the cross. People who need Him are watching how we live, and our choices will either help lead them to Jesus or trip them up. Let’s choose wisely!

PS. Eric Vanderhoof will be preaching on Sunday (ONE service only) about the doctrine of salvation. So that Amber can be in the sanctuary to hear her husband preach, we will not have elementary classes for the kids on Sunday. The 1st-6th graders will be in the service. Hope to see you on Sunday and that you can stay after the service for the picnic!
