The Combo Life

My Fellow Fishermen and women,
We’ve been called, commanded and commissioned by Jesus to follow Him (Mark 1:17-18). His promise to us is that He will transform our lives and that He’ll repurpose our lives so that we’ll be fishers of people. We spent all of last week sharing this news about Jesus with kids from the community and NewLife at W4. It’s good for us to be reminded, too!
Our W4 daily lessons were that

Jesus invites us to follow Him (Mark 1:17)
He cares about our needs (1 Peter 5:7)
He loves us and forgives us (1 John 1:9) and
He calls us to go and tell others about Him (Matt. 28:19-20)

As we follow Jesus, we need to have an attitude of devotion in following Him (Ruth 1:16-17), an attitude of teachability (Ps. 143:5-8,10), and living the combo life of following Him closely for our own lives and fishing for people (John 21:15-19).
Jesus, in His divine power, has given us everything we need for life and godliness through knowing Him (2 Peter 1:3). Let’s go fishing!
